About Stutter Steps
Stutter Steps partners with local school districts and community organizations to identify low-income families and provide resources to them to assist with speech therapy.
Various fundraising activities are initiated throughout the year to help obtain resources that can be used to help with speech therapy. Electronic equipment, offsetting the cost of speech therapy, assisting with the cost of summer camps, such as “Camp Shoutout,” in Michigan are just a few ways in which Stutter Steps assists children and teens in need.
Founder, Davin Brar

Today, he continues his speech therapy weekly, working with his amazing Speech Therapist, Dr. Suzi. Dr. Suzi has been working with Davin for over 7 years and she has been his mentor throughout this process. The name for Stutter Steps came from Davin’s love of Basketball. Stutter Step is a warmup used in basketball to keep players alert and defend players in a real game. Davin attributed his stutter as always keeping him alert before he speaks, just like when he plays in Basketball. Davin’s goal is to help assist children obtain access to resources to help them through their speech therapy process. It is vital that our children feel confident in expressing themselves without fear or shame. Speech therapy is an amazing tool, it can help children find their voice…. literally.
